We all know that weddings can get very expensive, the costs just seem to keep piling up, especially if you are planning a wedding for a guest list of over 100 guests. You quickly realize that you just can’t seem to work in another $1500 into your budget to pay a professional invitation designer to create your wedding stationary. The average stationer charges at least $5 – $10 per invitation suite and that doesn’t include all the additional stationary pieces such as your place cards, wedding programs and seating chart. You still want the look and feel of a professional designer though and are on a mission to find exactly that.

I am a huge advocate of Canva a user friendly, easy to use online designing program. You don’t even need to have a strong sense of design or creativity! Canva has several templates that you can use and completely customize to suit your wedding style. The best part, it’s totally free! There are paid options as well that you can purchase for less than the cost of a cup of coffee to give you even more great options. You can upload photos to add to your design as well to personalize your look even more. I personally use Canva for all of my graphic and design projects because it’s fast and easy to use and I can customize any template to look just the way I want it to.

The beauty of Canva is you can actually design every piece of your wedding stationary for free, then you just need to download your designs and have them printed by a printer. I highly recommend using Vistaprint to have your designs printed, their regular costs are very reasonable and if you watch their sales you can actually have your stationary printed at 50% off their regular price of approximately $0.70 per invite, at 50% off that’s only $0.35 per invitation, for a guest list of 200 guests you would only need to spend approximately $60 plus shipping on all of your invites. You could probably have all of your wedding stationary printed for under $200 which is a steal in comparison to $1500 for a professional to design and put together your suites.

You will need to put together your invites, but hey, why not make an evening of it with your bridal party and a couple of bottles of bubbly. You just saved yourself hundreds of dollars on all of your wedding paper needs.
