As the name suggests, the pre-wedding takes place before the wedding, there are two main types of photography that should take place prior to the wedding. The first being an “Engagement Shoot” with the second being a “Boudoir Session”. Often wedding photographers have packages that will include additional photoshoots apart from actual wedding day photography. These shoots are a great way to show off your own personal style and create beautiful memories for years to come.

Engagement Shoot

The Notebook Inspired Engagement Photo Shoot

It seems to be a growing trend to have fun and creative or themed engagement photos taken of you and your fiancé. I have seen all types of engagement photos taken many with a background or theme derived from something the couple like to do together or their favourite movie. “The Notebook” replications or 1950’s era is often used. Toronto features dozens of fantastic locations to take engagement photos at. You can also check out “Breathtaking Photography Locations in Toronto” for some more inspiration.

There are so many ways to get use out of your engagement shoot photos, such as using them to add to your wedding website, for your Save The Date cards or to feature a few of your engagement photos at your wedding reception. The possibilities are endless really!

Boudoir Sessions

Many brides-to-be are opting for a very sexy approach to photos to give as a gift to their husband-to-be. Boudoir is a sexy new growing trend featuring sultry poses of her either in the complete nude or donning swanky lingerie in a bedroom. A boudoir session allows the bride to feel sexy and confident. Many brides tend to replicate pin up style photos or vintage glam with soft colours and fabrics creating an alluring and enticing look. Some couples actually opt to do a boudoir shoot featuring both the bride and the groom to display in the bedroom.

Will you be doing a boudoir session for your hubby-to-be?
