Rustic Wedding themes often showcase soft neutral colours, such as cream, blush and champagne or grey for a soft romantic look in the spring and summer, colour schemes usually features more bold and rich colours for fall and winter weddings, such as burgundy, burnt orange and rich browns. A country rustic wedding offers a fun, and more carefree wedding atmosphere for your guests to enjoy. I often see many types of wood incorporated into the theme’s decor design, using many other natural elements such as, twigs, branches, tree trunks, wildflowers and peonies, to name a few. The all famous burlap and lace combination is still going strong! We see burlap and lace incorporated into designs all over the place from, table linens, to aisle runners, it doesn’t look like this fabulous duo are going anywhere anytime soon! Which is fabulous because I absolutely love the combination of these two very versatile fabrics.
Rustic Weddings are usually a little more on the casual side, with short to the knee length bridesmaids dresses often times the bridesmaids will wear some cute cowboy boots to match the country theme. Groomsmen often in a more laid back look skipping the suit jacket and instead donning a pair of suspenders. I’ve even seen the groomsmen wear jeans with a nice solid colour or plaid button up shirt and suspenders. How’s that for easy going? For a slightly more formal look, the gentlemen can easily add a nice vest or jacket without looking too overdone.
When I think of a rustic country themed wedding I envision a beautiful bride making her grand entrance at the barn doors, with chivari chairs lining the aisles. The bride is sitting atop a beautiful white horse, with her father holding the reins leading the horse towards the aisle, as the bride, dismounts and kisses her horse and father, they then make their way down the aisle as she prepares to walk the aisle to marry her handsome groom in front of all of those that she loves and adores. (Hey, a girl can dream can’t she, and it doesn’t get much more country rustic than that does it?)
